Re:Who won your Fantasy football league? Date Posted:01/05/2020 6:06 AMCopy HTML I was killing it in every way possible. I drafted the #1 and #2 fantasy players, regardless of position, Christian McCaffrey and Lamar Jackson. I led the league in points-per-week by a large amount. I led the league in margin-of-victory by a large amount. After going 2-2 in the first 4 weeks of the season, I won 12 games in a row all the way to the championship game where I was guaranteed to steamroll whoever my poor opponent was. Until I woke up the Sunday of the championship and decided to "coach/manage" my team and fuck everything all up two minutes before the 8 am early games deadline. I swapped out red-hot RB Kenyon Drake for declining RB Leonard Fournette at almost literally the last minute. My opponent already had two of his major players check in on Saturday with quiet games, so I figured I'd play it safe and start the guy with the lower ceiling but supposedly higher floor. Turns out Fournette pretty much stumbled face-first into that "high" floor while Drake nearly hit his ceiling with 34.4 points(30+ pts = a very good game). I had Drake penciled into my starting lineup all damn week. If I had just overslept or died in my sleep or whatever, I would've easily won the championship. Basically, I prevented my team from winning by not staying on the gas and making a cowardly roster move. Other shit happened that killed me, too, like my 2nd best RB Chris Carson suffering a season-ending injury before halftime. If he had finished his game I probably would've won despite the Drake debacle. Also, my brand new acquisition WR Anthony Miller, who was coming in fairly hot, did jack shit and scored just 1.2 points. 1.2 points = 12 yards. I could gain 12 yards. Never trust a WR that has a loser QB throwing to him, not in an important game. Fucking Mitchell Trubisky. So I came in 2nd twice in three seasons, my first three seasons ever playing fantasy football after not really paying close attention to the NFL for over a decade. We had a couple of neglectful owners so I'll see if my brother the commissioner wants to replace them next season and let you know, Curtis. I think you'll like it. It's a lot easier and simpler than this basketball league and the entry fee is only $40. |
